Woody's Wishes

Weekend Assignment #41:  My New Year's Resolution for my Pet and vice-versa.

My Resolution for Woody:  Dear Woody: I would like you to go potty in the back yard WILLINGLY, instead of making me carry you out to go potty.  I would like you to learn to LIKE drinking water from your water bowl instead of the bathtub faucet.  I put fresh water in your bowl every day.  And when I'm done scratching your back, please don't "woof" for more.  Sometimes I get tired and need a rest.  And please don't snarl at the groomer when he's trimming the hair on your feet and clipping your nails.  He's only trying to make you more comfortable.

I resolve to go for more walks with you.  I know you love being outdoors.  (He thinks he's hot stuff when he's out on his harness and expando-leash!  Our neighborhood is his toilet!) I also resolve to be a little more generous with goodies from the table.

Woody's New Year's Resolution for me:  Dear Mom: Please put a chair at the dinner table for me and feed me "people food" like Daddy did for me on Thanksgiving when you went to Ft. Hood.  I don't like the water in my bowl. It's not fresh enough or cold enough.  Sorry, can't give on this one.  I promise to remain on guard duty and bark incessantly at anyone and everyone who passes by our house.  I promise to go potty outside IF you take me for walks so I don't have to poop in my own yard!

p.s. I tried to respond to your comment but I guess you have a list of people you accept e-mail from so I didn't get to but I would like to send you an e-mail.

I just wanted you to know that I've enjoyed what I've read of your journal so far as I begin exploring this community that I had no idea even existed until recently. I've so far read only the current entries but have enjoyed them all, your poetry in particular. I look forward to going back and reading the rest soon.
