A Twister's Rage

Roll cloud. © Jari Piikki

Clouds and wind collide on high

Inviting rain and hail

Frightened children cower, cry

Canines whine and wail.

Blasts of thunder rock the night

Deadly pounding growl

Terrify with forceful plight

Twister on the prowl!

Grip of force destroys the land

Its path a torrid rage

Respecting not the lives at hand

All the world its stage.

Erratic path, it builds and grows

Pummeling the ground

Until at last its final throes

Leave nothing else around

Sun will shine and skies will clear

Nothing left the same

Memories now etched with fear

In a Twister’s name!

You paint with your words, a picture even more vivid than that of the camera!  Beautifully written!
